I created the work ‘23 cm2’ for the exhibition Emergency Room at the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Centre in Athens in 2007.

‘23 cm2’ consists of a series of buttons. On the buttons seemingly random selected lines, images, all fragments from the daily news were printed. The buttons are distributed to the people that visit the exhibition. By wearing the buttons, people become accomplices and agents who actively perform the artwork. They incorporate it into their daily life, carrying and shaping the story of the fragment represented on their buttons.
